Farmhouse donates $5,000 to Rural Aid

A huge thank you to the Farmhouse community for participating in our recent research project, your response meant we hit our target and have donated $5,000 to Rural Aid to assist them in delivery of relief to farmers around Australia affected by drought, floods and fires.

Dear Farmhouse Friends,

We truly value the time you took to consider what is important to you when buying from Australian growers, farmers and artisan makers, your insights will help to shape Farmhouse of the future, and help us to make it even easier to buy from your favourite farmers and makers. After all what is one the best ways to help an Australian farmer but to purchase what they produce! #buyfromthebush #buyregional

But most importantly as Australians are struggling across the country with the crushing effects of drought, floods and fire your participation has helped to support Rural Aid right now!

Rural Aid is one of Australia’s largest rural charities.

Well known for the highly successful ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign, the charity also provides financial assistance, water and counselling to farmers in times of drought, flood or fire. Rural Aid’s other initiatives support its vision that farming and rural communities are safeguarded to ensure their sustainability both during and after these natural disasters.

Rural Aid works around the clock to deliver help to Australian farmers in the form of hay, water, financial assistance, counselling, farm rescues and through their Gift of Music school program.

Recent aid delivered:

  • Hay drops in Elong Elong, Dunedoo, Yeoval, Hebden, Wilmington Dubbo, Tamworth.

  • Farm Rescue in Manildra.

  • Gift of Music in Manildra, Cumnock and Yeoval public schools.

  • 5000 Gift cards sent to Farmers along with Christmas letters written by Australian corporate supporters and school children.

As Rural Aid says, "Australia is staring down the barrel of a horrific summer season that will drag scorching temperatures and extreme conditions well into the New year".

The message that Rural Aid constantly communicates to farmers in need is that “We are in this together“.

If you have a moment take a few minutes to watch the Rural Aid Video and see how exactly they are assisting people on the ground.

Thank you for your support of Farmhouse and Rural Aid.
